Blame the Boomerang Effect on Bella The Corner Gourmet showing up in Lewisburg in 2010! The proprietor, Tamera, lived in Greenbrier County 30 plus years ago, worked for the family business (La Strada in Fairlea to those of you who stayed put and/or have boomeranged back, too!) and always kept on the retirement list the Greenbrier/Monroe County areas. So, with an empty nest and a bit sooner than expected, Bella arrived with goodies from near and far, a new business plan and genuine love for the people and place of Lewisburg and surrounding area.
Why the name Bella? It’s a blended family name and it reminds me of my Dad’s gregarious nature - Something I like to share and I don’t ever want to forget.
Our intention was to bring new life to the corner in downtown Lewisburg, create positions for a few happy fellow staffers, offer great items that folks want and need, and provide a beautiful and fun atmosphere to hang out in while shopping.
Shopping at Bella you’ll fine a blend of artisan cheeses – most fresh; great wine (we have 100 plus other labels) craft beers (gluten free), hard ciders, and other beverages; unique and useful kitchen wares/tools; barware; coffee, tea and accessories; wonderful gourmet pantry and snack food items; a selection of local meats; and, custom gift baskets! We support many of the local artisans who produce beautiful wooden and pottery items for the kitchen, local bakers, local cheese makers, and wine makers, too.
Bella has been open for over two years and the response has been fabulous! We are grateful for everyone taking time to shop downtown Lewisburg and for sharing their wants and food adventures with us. We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you.
